Dancers raising $150 or more are invited to compete in the dance contest. If your rumba, fox trot or crumping skills impress the judges you can win excellent prizes including a night at a fabulous downtown Seattle hotel or a two week personal writers’ retreat in Eastern Washington. Celebrity judges are scheduled to include Trent Moormon of Head Like a Kite, John Roderick of The Long Winters and The Stranger’s Christopher Frizzelle. Not interested in competing? You can still show your support by purchasing a general admission ticket for $15.
826 Seattle is a non-profit writing and tutoring center nestled in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. You may have seen their office at 85th & Greenwood Ave. under the guise of a Space Travel Supply Store. The organization is founded on the belief that “great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.” We encourage you to come out to support 826 Seattle so they can continue to improve the lives of local youth. Just try not to do the dice thing too much...
