ELECTIONEERING: Do you make all your voting decisions based on the enthusiastic support of aging rock musicians? If so, tonight's your night, with the likes of Krist Novoselic, Dave Dederer, and Kim Thayil turning out at the Croc to support the electoral efforts of Dow Constantine to become the new King County Exec. Music will be provided, and there's a special VIP treatment if you can cough up $100 for a donation.

7 p.m. for VIP's, 8 p.m. doors // The Croc, 2200 Second Ave. // $25 suggested donation, 21+

BUDDENBOOKS: When we first read Geoff Dyer (with Yoga for People Who Can't Be Bothered to Do It), it took us a while to get into it. On the one hand, the Dyer that emerged in the book (a non-fiction collection about his adventures on assignment as a travel writer) seemed like a real jerk; on the other, the prose was precise and elegant and the stories insightful, and well...eventually he managed to win us over. Tonight down at Elliott Bay, he's reading from his new book, Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi, a pair of thematically linked novellas.

7:30 p.m. // Elliott Bay Book Co., 100 S. Main St. // free!

SHE-ARTISTS: Pamela Tanner Boll's documentary Who Does She Think She Is? explores the challenges women face in attempting to balance families and relationships with economics and their art. The film follows five female artists and explores not only the relationship between their personal lives and their art, but also the complex socio-economic situation they face in contemporary America, where female artists have yet to earn an equal place in the public consciousness. Plus, tonight, director Boll will be available for a Q & A after the film.

7:30 p.m. // SIFF Cinema, 321 Mercer St. // $10 GA
