  • HAPPY EARTH DAY! Several Earth Day events were held across LA today including a "Globe Exhibit" at Exposition Park...Were you able to make it to any "Green" activities? (LA Times gallery)

  • The clash between animal rights activists and animal research scientists continued at UCLA...The pro-animals group carried signs showing some of the techniques used on animals while the pro-research group held signs saying "Stop the Bombing" and "Say No To Terror".

  • Around 2,500 LA students heard stories from Holocaust survivors at Pan-Pacific Park near the Fairfax District in LA...One event sponsor is heading a project to build a $14 million Holocaust Museum which is under construction at the park.

  • Sprout eaters beware...An Arcadia company has recalled alfalfa sprouts that may be contaminated with salmonella...The sprouts were distributed to wholesalers in LA and Costa Mesa and were used in restaurants and not sold in retail stores.

  • The LA City Council stalled on proceedings to name the new LAPD headquarters after former police chief William Parker...Many civic and religious leaders were against the move citing Parker's alleged negative influence on race relations in the city.

  • A new water conservation plan aims to restrict lawn watering to Mondays and Thursdays only...The LA City Council approved the plan and it will take effect June 1...This plan will be enforced along with the other rule of now watering between 9am and 4pm.

  • An LA doctor, also the son of the Premier of Bermuda, pleaded not guilty to molesting a dozen women...A dozen women, including a 15 year old girl and an undercover vice officer, testified that he touched them improperly over a five year span.

  • Finally...Today also marked the 11th Annual "Denim Day"...The movement sponsored by Peace Over Violence aims to spread awareness about rape and sexual assault and to educate people on protecting themselves.
