Maui Tourney Highlights Washington's Schedule

Published June 8, 2010 at 4:16 a.m.

There's few surprises on Washington's 2010-11 schedule, which was released today. The Huskies are often criticized by fans for a lackluster non-conference schedule, however, UW plays in the star-studded Maui Invitational during Thanksgiving week which bolsters its schedule.

Every other non-conference game is in Seattle except a game at Texas A&M on Dec. 12.

The season begins with an exhibition Nov. 6 against Division II Saint Martin's followed by a pair of games against McNeese State (Nov. 13) and Eastern Washington (Nov. 16) before the trip to Hawaii.

The Huskies finish their pre-Pac-10 schedule with six games, including games against Texas Tech (Dec. 4), Portland (Dec. 6) and Nevada (Dec. 22).

The Pac-10 season begins Dec. 29 at USC and Washington plays New Year's Eve at UCLA.

The Huskies play the Oregon schools, Bay Area schools and Arizona schools before facing cross-state rival Washington State (Jan. 29).

During the second half of the Pac-10 schedule, UW faces the Oregon schools, Bay Area teams, Arizona schools, WSU before finishing with the Los Angeles teams.

Washington also faces Seattle University on Feb. 22 at KeyArena.

We'll break down the schedule in more detail.
